Agua Caliente County Park

by Deric Stowell on November 18th, 2009

I got a chocolate cake on the Coleman stove, a cup of Early Times at my side, and watching the crows flying around overhead. Its so quiet here that when they fly over head I can actually hear the woosh woosh woosh woosh of their wings.

I love being out here in the outdoors. Its so quiet and peaceful as opposed to the noisiness of in-town living. I love the deafening silence. Reminds me of long ago, when i was a youngster, back home on the farm.

Its only 4:20 ( ! ) in the afternoon, but the sun has gone over the mountains behind me and so now its getting cold and kinda dark. Of course, for this time of year, it WILL be dark in about an hours’ time.

I look around and I can see the rabbits hopping about, and hear as well as see and hear the California Quail as they move through the area. here-here-here here-here-here they call…… I wonder if they are in cahoots with the rabbits?
